Third-party certification standards
AIMS has always been keen to offer a “one stop shop” to its members and we are pleased that we offer two Assurance Schemes:
- the NACB standard, audited by SAI Global; and
- the AMPS standard, audited by KIWA PAI.
For further details please see below.
Assured Meat Processing Scheme (AMPS)
Kiwa Agri Food is the sole auditing body to carry out Assured Meat Scheme audits on behalf of the Association of Independent Meat Suppliers (AIMS). The scheme has been developed by AIMS and is called the Assured Meat Processing Standard (AMPS).
The standard has been written in a practical way and recognises that the meat industry is already monitored within a regulatory framework by the Food Standards Agency.
The documentation for the standard is:
Membership of The National Association of Catering Butchers scheme> allows catering butchers to prove that the standards of food safety, hygiene and quality meet nationally agreed levels of best practice, and gives an assurance to the consumer that products they sell are safe and legal.
NACB certified catering butchers must have taken every step to ensure the legality, safety and quality of the meat and meat products that they supply to their customers.
The NACB Standard aims to avoid duplication and the imposition of unnecessary costs to deliver an assurance scheme that is cost-effective, credible and worthy of recognition by your customers. It is the only standard tailored specifically to the unique demands of the catering butchery sector.
